In Guangzhou's "12218" modern industrial system, ultra-high-definition video, new displays, semiconductors and integrated circuits are among the 15 strategic industry clusters. Several leading enterprises in Guangzhou are demonstrating strong capabilities in fields such as new displays and integrated circuits.
"One in every three LCD TVs worldwide uses a master control boardfrom CVTE," said Duan Yu, Chief Strategy and Resource Officer of Guangzhou Shiyuan Electronic Technology Company Limited (CVTE). Since its founding in 2005, CVTE has grown into a "chain leader" in Guangdong's ultra-high-definition display industry. In education digitalization, CVTE's self-developed Seewo Teaching Modelpowers smart classrooms, covering over 81% of primary and secondary schools in China with functions such as "AI Lesson Planning" and "AI Class Report Analysis." "The Seewo Classroom Intelligent Feedback System has been deployed in more than 5,000 schools, generating over 180,000 classroom reports to help young teachers improve teaching quality," said Liu Xiaoxiang, Director of the Software Platform at CVTE Future Education Group (Seewo).
For a long time, China has relied on imports for high-end MEMS sensors. Guangzhou Aosong Electronics Co., Ltd.(Aosong) has built a complete industrial chain covering material R&D, chip design, packaging and applications, filling the gap in the domestic market. "Up to now, we have mass-produced more than 40 types of intelligent sensors, with our capacitive temperature and humidity sensors holding nearly 100% market share in China," said Chen Xinzhun, Deputy General Manager of Aosong. The company is constructing an 8-inch MEMS chip factory, set to commence production by mid-year with a monthly production of 20,000 chips.
As Guangdong's first 12-inch chip mass-production platform, CanSemi Technology Inc (CanSemi) has invested over 30 billion yuan, with its capacity ramping up to 80,000 wafers per month. "The development of AI large models demands higher chip processing and storage capabilities. CanSemi is actively developing AI edge chips for fields like robotics and smart terminals," said Chen Wei, president of CanSemi. The company has also collaborated with universities to incubate over 120 patents and cultivate more than 300 semiconductor talents annually to strengthen the talent pipeline for the industry.
